The premium weekly special trains will be run on April 25 and May 2 to clear extra rush of traffic. Train No.06746 Tirunelveli–Chennai Central will be a day train that will leave Tirunelveli at 9.15 a.m. on Fridays and reach Chennai Central at 8.05 p.m. on the same day.

Train No.06745 Chennai Central–Tirunelveli will leave Chennai Central at 10.30 p.m. on Fridays and reach Tirunelveli at 9.20 a.m. the next day.

The trains will have 46 AC 2-tier berths, 378 AC 3-tier berths and 715 sleeper class berths. Booking for the trains will commence on April 15 and 22 respectively.

The trains will stop at Kovilpatti, Sattur, Virudhunagar, Madurai and Salem.

Only internet booking

The tickets for these trains can be booked only on the internet (e-tickets) up to four hours prior to the scheduled departure of the trains, according to a railway statement.

If any berths were left over, they would be made available to the public at the current booking counters at the last online sold price. No concession would be given on tickets for these trains, and adult fare would be charged for all passengers, the statement added.

The statement further said no refunds would be made unless the trains were cancelled. Upgradation option was also not applicable.

Original proof of identity used while booking the ticket must be carried by the passenger during the journey.

After preparation of chart, current reservation could be made at all stations where the trains stopped, subject to availability of berths.

Fares in these trains were dynamic. Tatkal fare in other trains would be the starting fare. If the demand for the train increased, the fare too would increase up to 150 per cent in sleeper and 200 per cent in AC classes, the statement added.
