Chamber welcomes President’s speech on development schemes

Agrofood (India) Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also welcomed the schemes announced by the President for agriculture

Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry hailed the speech of President Pranab Mukherjee at Parliament on Monday. In a press release, N. Jegatheesan, association president, hailed the commitment of the government to fast-track growth of the nation. Schemes such as simplification of tax regime, expediting roll out of goods and services tax, establishing industrial and freight corridors, transforming farming into a viable venture through scientific practices and promoting labour intensive manufacturer, if given effect, will usher in an era of high growth and prosperity in the country, the release said.

Meanwhile, Agrofood (India) Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also welcomed the schemes announced by the President for agriculture at Parliament on Monday.

In a press release, S. Rethinavelu, president of the association, has said that the schemes present a road map of the new government.

The association welcomed the concept of making agriculture sector profitable, the National Land Use policy and the emphasis on improving supply side of agricultural products.

The release also urged the Union government to fix a timeline to implement the schemes.
