CEOA chess fest from May 14

The CEOA School here has planned to conduct a four-day chess festival, beginning from May 14 to 17, for school students and the winner would get Rs. one lakh as prize money. In a bid to promote the game in this part of the region, the school proposed to give a ‘big’ reward to the winner, said CEOA schools chairman M. Raja Climax here on Wednesday. Apart from the first prize, the runner up would get a prize of Rs. 50,000 and third prize would be Rs. 25,000. Ten special prizes for girl students would also be presented.

Participants born on or after 1.1.1999 shall be eligible to participate and students from across the country are welcome to take part in the chess tourney.

Registration, accompanied by valid identity proof with bonafide certificates, would be mandatory and the requisite forms would be available with the tournament committee.

The school would provide lodging to the players free of cost and the tournament would be inaugurated on May 14, by S.L. Harsh, president, Chess Association of India, Lucknow, and prize distribution function would be held on May 17, in which CAI, Lucknow, secretary S.K. Tiwari would be the chief guest.
