The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) building was abuzz with activity on Thursday as a programme was held to celebrate Children’s Day.

Joining hands with Kanavukku Seyal Kuduppom, a Madurai-based non-governmental organisation (NGO), the DLSA organised cultural programmes for HIV-positive children and the physically challenged. Children from Believe Trust, Kanavukku Seyal Koduppom and ART (Antiretroviral Therapy) Centre perfomed dance programmes.

Meanwhile, ChildLine-Madurai organised a public awareness programme at Mattuthavani and Arapalayam bus stands and Madurai railway junction. ChildLine desks had been set up at these places. Street plays were organised and handbills distributed to the public. Attractive ChildLine paintings with messages on child protection were put on display.
