CBSE students pass with flying colours in class 12 examinations

All the schools in Madurai secured 100 per cent pass in the class 12 examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Examinations (CBSE), the results of which were announced on Monday.

S. Padmasandhya of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Narimedu, scored the highest marks among CBSE schools in the district with a total of 486, scoring 95 in English, 96 in economics, 98 in maths and accountancy and 99 in business studies.

“I just remained calm during the examinations and prepared at my own pace with a lot of motivation and support from my teachers, principal and parents,” said Padmasandhya, who aspires to become a Chartered Accountant and is writing the preliminary exams for it in June.

Her father K. Srikanth, Chief Divisional Manager of Indian Oil Corporation, said that they had ensured that she was not under any pressure and was motivated at home.

Mahatma Montessori School (CBSE) had the second highest score in the district with M.S. Revanth from the science group scoring 484 marks.

“I studied from the NCERT textbooks thoroughly and kept calm before the exams,” he said. The aspiring civil or computer science engineer scored 95 in English and maths, 97 in physics, 99 in chemistry and 98 in computer science.

B. Sai Aravindh, who was school second in KV, Narimedu, also came district third with a score of 482 marks in the science stream, by getting 95 in English, 96 in maths and computer science, 98 in physics and 97 in chemistry.

C. Muthiah, Principal, KV, Narimedu, said that the school had performed much better than the previous year with scores in many subjects improving.

It had many students scoring above 400 marks and also had students in the State merit list with 99 marks in chemistry and informatics practices.

Adhyapana School, which sent its first batch for the CBSE examinations this year, secured a cent per cent pass, said Principal Aruna M. Visvessvar.

P.A. Akshaya scored 460 marks in the commerce stream and was the school topper while R. Nithyasri topped the science stream with 453 marks.

At the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tirupparankundram, J. Bharati Kannan stood first with a total of 475 marks and all the students who appeared for the exams scored above 400 marks.
