Cases filed against PRP firm, staff

The Madurai district police have registered two cases against some of the staff members and two sons of P.R. Palanichamy of PRP Granites here on Thursday.

Following a complaint from Village Administrative Officer (Keelaiyur) M. Akbar Sait, the Superintendent of Police V. Balakrishnan directed the police to register a case.

The complaint is that the accused firm, which is in the business of granite quarrying had, through its employees and partners, has allegedly indulged in conspiracy, cheating and among other criminal offences incurring loss to the exchequer.

The Appan Thirupathi police have registered cases under IPC Sections 120 b, 109, 201, 447, 379, 420, 304 (1) r.w. 3 (1) TNPPDL Act, Explosives Act and among others and gave the names of the accused as Kottai Veeran, P. Suresh Kumar, P. Sendhil Kumar and others.

The Appan Thirupathi police are interrogating them.
