Case against Ramadoss’ visit to Dindigul

January 31, 2013 02:15 pm | Updated 02:15 pm IST - MADURAI:

A public interest litigation petition has been filed in the Madras High Court Bench here seeking a direction to Dindigul Collector and Superintendent of Police to ban the proposed visit of Pattali Makkal Katchi leader S. Ramadoss to the district on Tuesday.

T. Villavan Kothai of Viduthalai Chirtuthaigal Katchi (VCK) had filed the petition by accusing the PMK leader of visiting Dindigul with the sole aim of holding a meeting of leaders of various caste based groups and organisations and persuading them to work against Dalits.

Stating that certain remarks made by Mr. Ramadoss had already evoked large scale condemnation and a ban on his entry into districts such as Madurai and Ramanathapuram, the petitioner apprehended that allowing him to visit Dindigul might cause disturbance to public order.
