Canara Bank to open 20 more e-lounges

The Canara Bank (Madurai Circle) has planned to open 20 more e-lounges across its branches in southern districts during the current fiscal year.

Inaugurating an e-lounge facility at the K. Pudur branch here on Monday, Bank’s General Manager (Madurai Circle) R. Sampath Kumar said that the new facility would enable not only the businessmen having account in the bank, but also the savings bank account holders to visit anytime for carrying out their transactions.

The e-lounge has an ATM, cheque depositing machine kiosk, cash depositing machine kiosk and pass book printer kiosk.

Already such a facility was available in the Nagercoil College Road branch and two branches - Grand Central and Town Hall Road - in Madurai. The facility in K. Pudur is third in the Temple City and fourth in the Madurai circle.

The bank, which has 187 branches with a total business of Rs.15,168 crore across eight southern districts also, had the responsibilities of the lead bank in Madurai and Theni districts. P. Venugopal, Deputy General Manager, K. Mahendran, chief manager, K. Pudur branch, and among others participated.
