Call to invest in Madurai

: Collector L. Subramanian has invited entrepreneurs to start micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the district .

With the State targeting Rs. 25,000 crore investments, Madurai district was looking at investments of around Rs. 500 crore.

The District Industries Centre (DIC) was examining ways to encourage existing entrepreneurs to expand, diversify and modernise their industries and identify neo-entrepreneurs.

Madurai, with a strong base in agro-industries, engineering, food processing, rubber products, had potential in other sectors such as hospitals and laboratories, cold storage facilities etc.

The officials would play the role of catalysts by identifying land, preparing project and feasibility reports, arranging loans and offering subsidies.
