The distribution of booth slips began in the Madurai parliamentary constituency on Saturday.

The constituency has 1,468 polling booths spread across the six assembly segments of Melur, Madurai North, Madurai South, Madurai East, Madurai West and Madurai Central. Election officials said that booth-level officials would carry out door-to-door distribution of the same.

Stating that while booth-level agents appointed by a political party or candidate could accompany the officers during distribution, only the officers would be authorised to distribute the slips, officials said. The voter or any member of the family could sign and procure the slip, they added.
