Corporation Mayor R. Kasthuri Thangam handed over free birth certificates to parents of 25 children under the age group of five and below. Speaking at a function here on Thursday, she said the move would certainly help the beneficiaries to enrol their children in schools at the right time. The distribution of birth certificates would be carried out continuously till the end of May, 2010.
Deputy Mayor, Thommai Yesuadiyan, Commissioner of Corporation, P. Kubendran, Executive Engineer of Corporation, S.A. Rajagopalan and councilors from various wards were present.
