American College signs MoU with MSCTRF

In a bid to raise awareness of importance of mental health among the public, The American College here has signed a memorandum of understanding with M.S. Chellamuthu Trust and Research Foundation (MSCTRF) on Saturday.

The MoU is aimed at facilitating academic, research and training cooperation in the area of mental health and its related fields.

Speaking at the inaugural programme on ‘Mental Health Dialogue’, Dr. C. Ramasubramanian, founder, MSCTRF, said, “Today, a majority of the people who are with mental disabilities are youngsters. The younger generation is under a lot of stress, which is owing to various reasons such as parental pressure, inferiority complex and so on.”

Positive attitude

He appealed to the audience to focus on their studies and stressed the need for positive attitude to succeed in life.

Dr.Ramasubramanian motivated the students by citing examples of several prominent personalities during his hour-long presentation on mental health. M. Davamani Christober, Principal, and faculty members participated.
