The All India Moovendar Munnani Kazhagam has condemned the Kerala Government and the Congress government in the Centre and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam which is part of the Congress led alliance for betraying the interests of the Tamils in the Mullaperiyar dam issue.

Addressing a press conference following the party's State general council meeting, here on Sunday, N.Sethuraman, founder president, appreciated Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa for handling the issue in a skilful manner by keeping in mind the safety of the people of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

Dr.Sethuraman said that the party also condemns the Manmohan Singh-led Congress government for not providing central government's funds which are due to Tamil Nadu.

AIMMK fully supports the Kudankulam Nuclear Plant Power Project as it would help solve the power crisis and help in the industrialisation of the southern districts and moreover the party would involve itself in awareness campaign among the public on the need to have the nuclear plant.

The council also decided to celebrate the founder president's birthday which falls on December 30, by hoisting the party's yellow and green flag in a rejuvenated sense.
