AIADMK candidate for the Madurai Lok Sabha constituency R. Gopalakrishnan has immovable and movable assets worth Rs.7.3 crore in his and his wife’s names.

According to the affidavit submitted to Collector and Returning Officer of the Madurai constituency L. Subramanian, Mr. Gopalakrishnan, who is a realtor, owns movable assets worth Rs.37.38 lakh, which includes a Volkswagen Vento car, Toyota Innova and 380 grams of gold.

His wife G. Deepa owns movable assets worth Rs.29.52 lakh, which includes 1,432 grams of jewellery and valuables worth Rs.28.64 lakh. The immovable assets Mr. Gopalakrishnan owns include 1.62 acres of agricultural land valued at Rs.6.48 lakh and non-agricultural land of 8,938 square feet valued at 53.58 lakh. He has also declared multiple plots of non-agricultural land owned by his wife amounting to 59.69 lakh. The liabilities in his name amount to Rs.21.41 lakh and his wife has Rs.52.64 lakh in liabilities.

Congress candidate T.N. Bharath Nachiappan, a practising lawyer, has a net worth of Rs.55.5 lakh. His property includes movable assets in his name worth Rs.4.6 lakh and Rs.45.99 lakh worth of movable assets in his wife’s name. The immovable assets he owns include non-agricultural land valued at Rs.8.23 lakh.
