As part of the probe by Legal Commissioner U. Sagayam into the granite scam, a team of officials conducted an aerial survey of select granite quarries in Melur region using a drone on Wednesday.

Sagayam not present

However, Mr. Sagayam was not present during the survey.

Joint Director of Agriculture Jayasingh Gnanadurai, who has been assisting Mr. Sagayam, and Village Administrative Officers of respective villages were present during the survey.

The aerial survey covered quarries that had not been surveyed among hundreds of quarries, official sources said.

The drone took pictures and video footage of the quarries in Keezhaiyur, Keezhavalavu, E. Malampatti and Rengasamypuram, the sources added.
