Following Union Government’s instruction to the banks on opening Aadhaar Service Centres in 10% of its branches, the Tamilnad Mercantile Bank has established the facility in 50 branches where the public can register for Aadhaar cards and make necessary corrections, if any, in the Aadhaar card.
Inaugurating the facility at TMB’s headquarters here on Wednesday, Chairman and Managing Director K.V. Ramamurthy said the TMB had become the first bank in the entire country by executing the Centre’s instruction on creating Aadhaar Service Centres in its 48 branches across Tamil Nadu and one branch each in Bangalore and Hyderabad.
Trained personnel of the TMB would register and make necessary corrections in the Aadhar card during the working hours. Apart from the customers of TMB, account holders of other banks could also utilise these free services being extended by these facilities within 10 minutes by submitting appropriate supporting documents.
“However, a small prescribed fee will be collected for making corrections in date of birth, mobile phone number, address etc.,” Mr. Ramamurthy said.
