Two accused in cheating case held

Madurai: A special team of police, arrested the absconding Managing Director of Madurai Rural Development Transformation India, M. Suresh Batcha and his brother, M. Siddique (40) in connection with a cheating case.

The team led by Deputy Superintendents of Police, Kalimullah Sha (Commercial Crime Investigation Wing, Tirunelveli) and Gurusamy (District Crime Branch, Madurai), rounded them up on Natham Road in Iyer Bungalow on Tuesday.

Police sources said that the Economic Offences Wing, Madurai, had registered the case for cheating, criminal breach of trust, criminal conspiracy and under the provisions of Tamil Nadu Protection of Interest of Depositors Act, 1977.

The complaint against the accused is that they cheated gullible depositors of huge money in the promise of exorbitant interests. The duo were sent to remand.
