The Hindu Young World Quiz on Feb. 10

MADURAI: Response to the 17th edition of The Hindu Young World Quiz for school children has been good. The event, which will be held at Thiagarajar College, Madurai, on February 10, is open to students of classes IV to IX. The premier quiz will be held for two categories — juniors (classes IV, V and VI) and seniors (classes VII, VIII and IX).

Each contesting team will have two members from the same school and a school can send any number of teams. The top six teams will compete in the final in each category. Only two teams from a school will be allowed among the six finalists. The registration fee for the programme is Rs 200. Online registration can be done at https://www.thehindu.com/ywquiz .

Apart from prizes for winners and certificates for all participants, there will be prizes for members of the audience coming up with instant answers. Those who are not able to register online can register on-the-spot at the venue.

The event is presented by Camlin Mechanical Pencils and powered by Life Insurance Corporation of India. The national gift sponsors are BSA Lady Bird and Hercules. The venue sponsor is Thiagarajar College. Vision partner is Lawrence and Mayo and fun partner is Funskool. Ars Hi-Tech Arai and HDFC are the regional sponsors.

S. Shasi Anand, Director, Kalasalingam University, will distribute prizes to the winners at the concluding ceremony to be held at 5 p.m.
