A total of 9,443 candidates, against the 14,623 who had registered, took part in the State-wide Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) Group I examinations held across 48 centres in the district on Sunday.
The district administration had made elaborate arrangements.
Seven flying squads led by officials in the rank of Deputy Collectors and 12 mobile parties lead by Deputy Tahsildars were deployed to monitor the conduct of examinations in the centres.
Collector K. Veera Raghava Rao inspected the centre at Lady Doak College. Officials said no untoward incidents were reported in any of the examination centres.
