The second day of counselling for postgraduate teachers of government higher secondary schools who wanted transfer to Madurai district from other districts was held here on Thursday in the presence of School Education Department officials.
S. Nagaraja Murugan, Chief Educational Officer, Madurai district, said that transfer orders were issued to 46 postgraduate teachers. The counselling was conducted for vacancies in various subjects. Seven posts were still lying vacant as there were no takers for those places. They would be filled when teachers got promotions. The counselling took place at M N U Jayaraj Nadar Higher Secondary School in Nagamalai Pudukottai and transfer orders were given on the spot.
