In a swift operation, Organised Crime Intelligence Unit sleuths raided a house in Anaiyur and seized 35 kg of ganja and apprehended two persons in this connection on Monday.

Acting on a specific input, the sleuths, led by Inspector of Police Chokkalingam and Sub-Inspector A. Jayashankar, raided the house in Annamalai Nagar under Koodal Pudur police limits in the afternoon.

They found the ganja stocked in the house, which was located in an isolated place along an irrigation tank.

The sleuths nabbed J. Ramesh (34) of Ellis Nagar and S. Satish (32) of Anaiyur.

The OCIU sources said that father-in-law of Ramesh, R. Boominathan (48) of Karimedu, who is said to have been running the godown at Annamalai Nagar was absconding. He was involved in selling narcotics in Periyar bus stand, Arapalayam, S.S. Colony and Karimedu.

The contraband, a two-wheeler and the two persons were handed over to Narcotics Intelligence Bureau for further action.
