3 held with 121 liquor bottles

Police seized 121 liquor bottles from two persons from Idinthakarai and arrested them on Friday.

Police said Radhapuram Sub-Inspector of Police Muthusamy intercepted an autorickshaw at Parmeshwarapuram on Friday following information that liquor in large quantity was being taken in the vehicle. On searching the autorickshaw, the police found 81 liquor bottles concealed in the vehicle.

Police arrested autorickshaw driver D. Kaliappan (32) of Radhapuram and M. Alder (35) of Idinthakarai, who was allegedly taking the liquor to his native place.

In another incident, Kudankulam police Sub-Inspector Rajamani arrested T. Prince (42), also from Idinthakarai, when he was standing near Thomas Mandapam near his native place with 40 liquor bottles. Further investigations are on.
