25th Ideal Home expo begins on Friday

The 25th edition of Ideal Home exhibition, being organised every year by Madurai District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (MADITSSIA), will commence at the Tamukkam Ground here on Friday.

The expo would feature 300 stalls and nine bays with one bay allotted exclusively for automobile sector, which is the theme of the current. Khadi sector and self-help groups have also been allotted bays, expo chairman S. Anburajan said while addressing a press conference here on Tuesday. Several two and four wheeler brands, battery and lubricants companies, banks and insurance were going to take part.

Special celebrations have also been scheduled as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the Ideal Home expo. The layout of the exhibition has also been changed this year with a circular design being adopted, he said.

MADITSSIA president N. Somasundaram said that this exhibition would boost trade and industrial growth in the region.

Exhibition vice chairman B. Muruganantham said that a fashion show to promote khadi attire among students would be organised by Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), which is also a sponsor for the expo.

Various other cultural events would be held on all days of the expo. Prizes would also be given on all days with three bumper prizes drawn on the final day, he said.

The expo timings are from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on week days and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sundays. An entry fee of Rs. 10 would be charged.
