Virudhunagar Chief Educational Officer has released a list of 22 schools that are functioning without due recognition from the Department of School Education, and warned parents against admitting their children or allowing them to continue their education in these schools.
In a statement, Chief Educational Officer A. Pugalenthi said that no admission to these schools without recognition should be made under the Right to Education Act, 2009. He asked the parents to admit their children to recognised schools.
Mr. Pugalenthi said that the same list of schools was made public in 2014, citing lack of recognition after they failed to comply with several established norms like adequate land, proper building and approval from local bodies.
“We wanted to remind the people about these schools once again as we received information that they are getting ready for fresh admission now,” he said. However, Mr. Pugalenthi said that these schools had not approached the School Education Department with fresh application seeking recognition after carrying out the corrective measures.
The unrecognised schools are: Kammavar Nursery and Primary School, Venkatachalapuram, Sattur; Military Man Nursery and Primary School, Perumal Devanpattti, Pillaiyarkulam, Srivilliputtur; Mariamman Nursery and Primary School, Athukamedu, Virudhunagar; Kalaivanai Nursery and Primary School, Sevalpatti, Vembakottai; Good Shepherd Nursery and Primary School, Sundankulam, Vembakottai, Sivakasi; Roja Nursery and Primary School, M. Reddiyapatti, Aruppukottai; Bhadrakaliamman Nursery and Primary School, West Street, Tiruchuli; Mahatma Nursery and Primary School, Poompidagai, Narikudi; Perunthalaivar Kamaraj Nursery and Primary School, Chinna Vallikulam, Aruppukottai; Green Wisdom Nursery and Primary School, Railway Feeder Road, Aruppukottai; G.K.
