Students from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools in the district fared well in the Class X public examinations with all the schools securing 100 per cent pass in the results announced on Thursday.
Among the 707 students who took the exams, 93 secured a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 10 out of 10. At Mahatma Montessori School, 57 of the 176 students who sat for the examinations had secured a CGPA of 10/10. The school authorities said that 19 students secured a CGPA of 9.8.
C. Muthiah, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya – Narimedu, said that 16 students — 10 boys and six girls — had secured a CGPA of 10/10. As many as 209 students appeared for the examinations from the school. “The school average stood at 8.10. A few of the students who have narrowly missed scoring a CGPA of 10 have lost marks in Mathematics which was tougher this year,” he said. Boys outshined girls at Kendriya Vidyalaya –Tirupparankundram, with 10 boys securing a CGPA of 10 while three girls secured a full CGPA. All the 79 students passed the examinations, said Principal Geetha Kumari.
At Adhyapana School, 59 students appeared for the examinations. Five students — three girls and two boys — scored a CGPA of 10.
Maharishi Vidya Mandir’s first batch of 16 students recorded a maximum CGPA of 9.6. As many as 168 students appeared for the examinations from Velammal Vidyalaya.
