A man was stabbed to death in Gandhinagar on Monday evening. The deceased has been identified as Binoy, 37, who ran a street shop in Gandhinagar.
The police arrested the accused, Ajith Antony, 27, of Thammanam in the case. Police investigation revealed that both the victim and the accused were in love with the same girl and they had developed enmity over it, which also resulted in clash between them during a previous occasion.
The murder took place around 5 p.m. when Ajith reached Gandhinagar with a knife and stabbed Binoy several times on his chest. Binoy was soon rushed to a nearby hospital and he died while being moved to another hospital.
The accused will be produced before a magistrate.
