Your MLA is just a phone call away

Have a complaint about the city? Just give your MLA a call.

Ernakulam MLA, Hibi Eden, launched the ‘Hibi on Call’ initiative here on Thursday to connect with the people of the constituency. All you need to do is dial 1860 425 1199 to register your complaint and an interactive voice response system takes care of the rest.

“The project is part of my public outreach programme. My aim is to connect with the people 24X7,” said Hibi at the event held at the Ernakulam Press Club.

Hibi’s voice will first welcome those dialling the helpline. The complaint, which can be lodged after a beep, will be recorded in the system’s database as a voice file.

Mr. Eden said that arrangements have been made to ensure that the government departments concerned would be able to respond to the complaints within a stipulated time frame.

Actor Anoop Menon launched the project titled ‘Arike’ at Ernakulam Press Club. In his inaugural call, he sought Mr Eden’s help to identify a new location with more space and free of traffic congestion for the Press Club. The MLA promised that steps would be initiated soon to identify a location for the same.
