Having seen airplanes only up in the sky, a ride among the clouds was something that had never been even in their wildest of dreams. And when it actually happened, that became an experience of a lifetime!

About 100 differently-abled children on Thursday were introduced to the world of aviation when they were taken for a joy ride on board a flight from Kochi to Thiruvananthapuram.

The event, Wings of Love-2, was organised by Rotary International in association with the Rotary clubs of Cochin West, Kaloor and Cochin Airport.

According to the organisers, the children selected for this trip were the winners of Rotary Olympics for Special Education Students (ROSES) who hailed from various special schools across the State. Conducted in two batches, the first set of students commenced their journey from Nedumbassery International Airport at 9:30 a.m. and the second batch of students from Thiruvananthapuram at 12:30 a.m.

President of Rotary club of Cochin International Airport V.K. Abdul Jaleel, president of Rotary Club Cochin West M.K. Renjith, director of Kaloor Rotary Club Baby John and teachers from several schools accompanied the children on the plane.
