: Water pipeline interconnection work at Vyttila junction may begin this weeked. The work is part of water authority’s efforts to shift pipelines to either side of S. A. Road to facilitate Metro’s work along the middle of the road.

The work under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission project is expected to be over in in 2-3 days. Work might begin after workers return after the Deepavali holidays, said officials in KWA and JNNURM.

Many residents in the by-lanes in the area on the stretch from Kadavanthara Junction to the New Bridge had lost their water supply when it was routed through the new main line. These connections were restored, said a KWA official.

However, leaks that had sprung at three spots on the central main line from the New Bridge to Vyttila are not being repaired because it will go dry after the new lines get interconnected at Vyttila.
