VS to open Khadi employees' meet

Leader of the Opposition V. S. Achuthanandan will inaugurate the 38th State conference of the Khadi Board Employees' Association (KBEA) that will be held at the Mammen Mappillai Hall on Saturday and Sunday.

Former Minister for Electricity A.K. Balan MLA and Suresh Kurup MLA will speak on the occasion.

KBEA president Anathalavattom Anandan will preside over the public meeting on Sunday.

Later in the day, LDF convener Vaikom Viswan will inaugurate a seminar on the topic ‘Problems faced by the khadi sector and proposals to tackle such issues'. C. Krishnan MLA will speak during the event.

Former MLA. V. N. Vasavan will inaugurate the delegates' meet on Saturday. A women's conference will also be held as part of the two-day event.

The new office-bearers of the association will be elected on the concluding day, the organisers said.
