Acclaimed Vedic scholar and thinker Acharya Narendra Bhushan passed away at a private hospital in the city at around 6.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

He was 75 years old.

He had been undergoing treatment for stomach-related ailments at the Amrita Hospital for the last two weeks, hospital sources said.

The body has been taken to his native place in Chengannur where it will be kept for the people to pay homage.

The body will be cremated at the Maharshi Dayananda Gurukulam at Vaikom at 4 p.m.

Recipient of numerous awards, he had written 100-odd books.
