British experts will draw up an action plan for improving the urban infrastructure facilities of Aluva. This was decided at a meeting of the visiting delegation with the civic representatives of the Aluva municipality on Tuesday.

The delegation led by British Deputy High Commissioner Bharat Joshi has proposed to conduct a four-day workshop to identify the projects that would address issues faced by the local body. The initiative comes as part of a project to support the local body to address impacts of climate change and minimise the effects of unplanned development.

A detailed report on the issues plaguing the local body, including flooding, waste management, impacts of climate change and urban traffic management, would be prepared as part of the exercise, said Jebi Mather Hisham, a councillor of the municipality, who is coordinating the project.

Mr. Joshi later planted a mahogany sapling on the Aluva municipality premises.
