With less than 1,000 days remaining for the commissioning of the Kochi Metro Rail project , the district administration has charted out a two-month period plan for the completion of land acquisition for the project.
A team from Agence Francaise de Developpement (AFD,) a French financial agency, which is in the city, continued talks with the stakeholders of the project on Wednesday.
It has reportedly expressed satisfaction with the progress of talks being held ahead of the proposed grant of loan.
The French team held discussions with the District Collector on a host of issues, including land acquisition. The team focused its attention on collecting data on rehabilitation, traffic arrangements and social impact assessment of the project.
Meanwhile, the formalities related to land acquired till now for the project are likely to be completed within a month.
The team also held talks with the representatives of Wilbur Smith Associates studying the travelling needs of the public.
On Tuesday, the team held talks with people’s representatives, Union Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution K.V. Thomas, and State Ministers K. Babu and Ibrahim Kunju and MLAs.
