Two more naval officers move HC

June 22, 2013 12:44 am | Updated 12:44 am IST - KOCHI:

Two more Naval officers and the wife of one of the officers on Friday filed a petition in the Kerala High Court seeking to set aside the FIR registered by the Harbour police against them on the basis of a complaint by a lieutenant’s wife, raising several allegations, including sexual harassment charges, against them. The petition was filed by Lieutenant Iswarchand Vidyasagar, Capt. Ashok K. Aukta and his wife Preena Aukta. The court had earlier asked the police not to arrest two officials, Commodore Anand Balakrishnan and Lt. Ajay Jayakrishnan, who also sought to quash the case.

According to the petitioners, further proceedings based on the FIR would amount to gross abuse of the process of the court. They submitted that the filing of the complaint was utterly mala fide and motivated by extraneous considerations and was solely intended to embarrass senior officers.
