The Town North Police on Saturday registered the arrest of Saritha S. Nair, who is lodged in the district jail, Kakkanad, in two out of three cases registered at the station. At present, she is under detention in a case registered at Perumbavoor.

The two new cases were registered against Sarita and her husband Biju Radhakrishnan on the basis of a complaint by Reginald George accusing them of cheating her of Rs. 95.86 lakh.

The other case was registered on the basis of a complaint by a jewellery showroom functioning at Padivattom, on charge of cheating the firm to the tune of Rs.23.5 lakh.

The Town North Police have also registered a case against Abhilash Nair and Santhosh of Team Solar, the company floated by Biju and Sarita, on the basis of a complaint by V.P. Joy of Muvattupuzha for allegedly cheating him of Rs. 1.60 lakh.

Sarita Nair was arrested by the Perumbavoor police in a case registered on charge of cheating Sajjad K.M., an industrialist of Rs. 40 lakh. Sarita and Biju collected the amount from him after promising to support him in setting up a power plant at Mudikkal and also to invest in wind mills at Radhapuram in Tamil Nadu.

Sources in the City Police said details of all the cases under probe have been transferred to a special team under A. Hemachandran, Additional Director General of Police, South Zone, which is looking into the controversy related to Sarita S. Nair and her alleged political connections.
