Two held from Mumbai for gold heist

Two persons were arrested from Mumbai on charge of stealing gold from a jewellery store in Kothamangalam here over a week ago.

D.R. Yadav, 48, and P.G. Pawar, 55, both natives of Maharashtra, were arrested in Mumbai by a team of the Kothamangalam police. The two men allegedly walked into the store with two women and asked to display some jewellery. They allegedly made away with 853 gm of gold by tricking the store staff. The police traced the accused by getting hold of the driver of the taxi that the four persons hired from the Ernakulam Town railway station to Kothamangalam. The police are on the lookout for the two women.

Ganja seized

Over 1 kg of ganja was seized from Jomon, 33, of Fort Kochi. He was held from near Ambedkar stadium with the drug, which he allegedly sold to students on a regular basis. The police also seized a dagger, two mobile phones, and cash from his possession.
