Two GCDA officials suspended

Two officials of the Greater Cochin Development Authority (GCDA) were suspended in connection with the allegation of improper sale of a five-cent plot owned by the authority in the city.

S. Vijayakumar, estate officer and A. Imamin Mubin, section assistant/section officer were suspended from duty with effect from July 31, according to an order issued by the Chairperson.

A group of Youth Congress activists had barged into the office of the secretary of the authority on Friday, protesting against the media reports on this allegation and the Kadavanthra police registered case against 27 persons in this connection.
