Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vaduthala, which was one of the venues of the re-scheduled All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) in the city, witnessed some tense moments as some students were not allowed to appear for the examination.

Even though instructions were given at the official website that candidates should re-register for appearing in the examination, some students failed to do so. School authorities refused to let them in, despite students and their parents protesting.

An official release issued by CBSE on Monday said that the rescheduled examination was for those who could not appear for the AIEEE because the exam centre where they were to appear was an Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) exam centre. Those who could not appear for the AIEEE because they were to appear for AFMC examination at a different centre and the candidates who could not appear for the AIEEE examination because of their online/offline exam or some administrative reasons were also to appear for the rescheduled examination.
