Even as the City Police are in dark about the whereabouts of Firoz, the bus conductor wanted in connection with the case of assaulting a woman passenger, three private bus employees were arrested in two days.
The Ernakulam Town Central Police arrested Saji, 21, of North Vazhakulam, Aluva, who was the door-checker of the bus operating from Kakkanad.
The case was that he signalled the bus to move before Laila Salaam of Thrikakkara boarded the bus. The incident occurred at 9.45 a.m.
When she complained, he shouted abuse at her, following which she lodged a complaint with the Central Police. In another incident, the Ernakulam Town North Police registered a case against the driver and the door-checker of a private bus after an old woman fell out of the bus on Monday. The woman, who was speech and hearing impaired, fell as the door-checker signalled before she could get on the vehicle. The incident occurred at Ayyappankavu at 4.45 p.m.
The police tracked the bus, which was operating between Chellanam and Cheranalloor, and arrested driver Antony, 38, and door-checker Fernandez, 35, of Kannamali.
They were later released on bail, after registering cases for reckless driving.
However, the woman, apparently aged around 70 years, gave those who were taking her to hospital the slip and went missing.
The police said that she appeared to be part of a gypsy group.
