Three arrested with Rs.8.46 lakh fake Indian currency

The Town North Police have arrested three youths from Chunnambuthara in the town with Rs.8.46 lakh fake currency of Rs.1000 and Rs.500 denominations brought in a car from Coimbatore to Thrissur on Thursday.

The arrested are Prasad (37), son of Krishnan, Nediyidath House, Pavaratty, Poovathul, Thrissur district; M.K. Joy (43), son of Kochunni, Mandumpalil, Perinnilavu, Kunnamkulam, Thrissur district and Manoj (38), son of Kannu, Muthadu House, Pazhanji, Kunnamkulam, Thrissur district.

The police said that they had arrested the accused from the car at Chunnambuthara on a tip off that fake currency is being taken from Coimbatore to Thrissur in a car by three youths.

On investigation it has been found that they were involved in exchanging of fake currency earlier also, the police said.
