The need for moulding future citizens by inculcating time-tested values was stressed by A. Pandian, general manager of Indian Oil Corporation here today.

He was addressing a group of school children at Sri Narayana Higher Secondary School at Ayyappankavu as part of a scheme to distribute complimentary copies of ‘The Hindu In School’ to deserving students of government schools in the city.

“No student should be deprived of knowledge just because it is not affordable and this is the whole idea behind the scheme to supply free copies to students in the government schools”. Free copies of The Hindu In School for government schools is an initiative of The Hindu supported & sponsored by Indian Oil corporation.

Under this scheme, students of government schools will be supplied free copies of The Hindu In School for this academic year.

Mr. Pandian handed over the copies of the student edition to Ms. Girija, Principal, SNHSS school and representatives of the student community amid chanting of slokas from the holy scriptures.

Girija, Principal of SNHSS, Ayyapankavu, was all praise for The Hindu & Indian Oil Corporation for their initiative. Earlier in the day Nandita, faculty of SNHSS School, welcomed the gathering & Aarathy, a student representative proposed a vote of thanks.
