Students take cleanliness pledge

Volunteers read out the pledge that was taken by all present on the occasion. The oath reminded the children of their role in maintaining cleanliness and their commitment towards maintaining it.

Hundreds of students took a cleanliness pledge as part of the observance of Swachh Bharat fortnight, jointly organised by the Indian Oil Corporation Limited and The Hindu in School at Gregorian Public School at Maradu on Thursday.

Volunteers read out the pledge that was taken by all present on the occasion. The oath reminded the children of their role in maintaining cleanliness and their commitment towards maintaining it. R. Suresh, Divisional Manager of Indian Oil Corporation, urged the students to play a key role in the nation-wide cleanliness campaign. Jayaprabha Pradeep, Principal of Gregorian Public School, advised the children to be sensitive towards maintaining their school and surroundings clean. N. Devanarayanan, Chief Manager (HR-CSR) of Indian Oil Corporation, was also present. Copies of The Hindu in School were distributed to the students.
