KOCHI: State IT Secretary M. Sivasankar has said the stakes and interests of the State in SmartCity Kochi project will be protected.

He added that the director board meeting of SmartCity Kochi would be held this month though the date was yet to be finalised.

Consultations

Speaking to The Hindu , Mr. Sivasankar said that consultations would be held with a delegation of Dubai-based promoters ahead of the crucial SmartCity board meeting.

Approval

Asked whether the State government was kept in the loop about the organisational restructuring at Dubai Holding, he said that the organisation was free to effect changes on its board.

However, the company had been specifically told that any change in the SmartCity Kochi senior management or appointments should be subject to the approval of the State government.
