Abhinaya, a Thiruvananthapuram-based theatre research centre, is staging a play each on May 15 and 17 here as part of the ongoing State-wide Abhinaya Summer Theatre Festival.

The festival, which started on May 11 in Kochi, will move to Kasaragod, Kollam, Thrissur and Thiruvananthapuram from here. Vijay Tendulkar's Sakharam Binder and Siddhartha , a theatre version of Herman Hesse's novel, will be staged. Sakharam Binder will be staged at the Sarovaram Hall at 7 p.m. on May 15 and Siddhartha at the Tagore Hall at the same time on May 17.

The four plays staged by Abhinaya cover topics such as women's empowerment, environmental protection and education.
