Sri Lankan Minister joins in celebrations

It was a pleasant surprise for teachers and students of RLV Government Upper Primary School at Thripunitura when Sri Lanka’s Women and Child Affairs Minister K.D.M Chandrani Bandara joined them on the occasion of school re-opening on Friday.

Ms. Bandara lit the ‘Aksharadeepam’ on the occasion and interacted with teachers and students.

Study of civic body

The Sri Lankan Minister was in town along with a delegation to study the functioning of Thripunitura municipality.

The visit was coordinated by the Kerala Institute of Local Administration, according to local body authorities.

Public schools

Teachers at the school said Ms. Bandara was impressed by the standards adopted by public schools in Kerala.

She praised the efforts by the government to support the public schools, they said.
