Specialist doctors for Lakshadweep

The Union Health Ministry has approved a proposal from the Lakshadweep Island Administration to make the services of specialist doctors available in Kavarathy, Minicoy, Androth, and Amini islands to ease the difficulties facing residents of the islands for a long time now.

A statement issued by Mohammed Faizal, MP, said that the availability of specialist doctors would bring down people’s hardship to a commendable extent, besides helping reduce the expensive process of evacuation of islanders for medical treatment.
