Samithi to strengthen agitation

December 06, 2017 01:06 am | Updated 01:06 am IST - Kochi

Chellanam Janakeeya Samithi has decided to strengthen its protest demanding immediate steps to repair the damaged seawalls and remove the mud and sand deposited in their households following the cyclone. A meeting of the Samithi held on Tuesday evening observed that the chances of authorities closing down the relief camp in schools were high, stating that the situation in the affected areas was returning to normalcy. But we would arrange a place where the people could be sheltered and our agitation to meet the demands raised by the residents would continue, said members of the Samithi.

“We want the government to carry out the work on a war footing,” they said.
