Film actor Salim Kumar inaugurated the Sahodaya CBSE State Kalotsav at the Viswajyothi CMI Public school, Angamaly, on Thursday.

Delivering the inaugural address, Mr. Kumar said that youth festival stages are the breeding ground for future talents. He urged students to develop the habit of reading if they wished to scale new heights in the world of arts.

Mr. Kumar said that he had never met ‘Abu,' his national award-winning character from the film Adaminte Makan Abu. But his wide reading helped him formulate that character in the mind.

The festival is being organised under the auspices of the Confederation of Kerala Sahodaya Complexes. Ministers, celebrities and cine artists are expected here during the three-day festival.
