The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC) will re-introduce boat service in Thekkady once all safety inspections are over, its Chairman Cherian Philip has said.

A decision would be taken following consultations with the Forest, the Water Resources and Irrigation and the Tourism departments.

The safety of existing vessels would be certified by experts and the number of people in each boat would be limited. The expertise of boat drivers and crew too would be verified and adequate number of life guards posted, he said.
