A committee comprising senior officials of the Department of Safety, FACT, and officials of the Kerala Water Transport Department will carry out a safety audit of the ammonia transportation barge in the backdrop of the massive ammonia leak in the city on Friday. The safety audit will be done in two to three days, a FACT official said, adding that the barge was expected to resume operations after the audit.

Meanwhile, a team of officials, who inspected the barge and the ammonia storage facility, has recommended replacement of the faulty valve that caused the leak.
